Fuel Filters
Whether you drive a Subaru Crosstrek or Outback, its gas may still have contaminants from the production process. With OEM fuel filters installed, you will not have to worry about major build-up in your engine, fuel pump, or fuel injectors. For instance, if your fuel filter is dirty or clogged, then the fuel pump won't work as efficiently.
Depending on which model you drive, it may come equipped with two types of fuel filters. The first one is called the strainer, and it's located in the fuel tank. The second is in the main fuel line. If your fuel filter is starting to go bad, there are warning signs you can look out for. They include:
- The Check Engine light turns on
- Rough starts
- A stalling engine
- Engine misfires
- Shuddering during idling
- Not being able to start your car at all
If you notice any warning signs, it would be best to perform a quick vehicle inspection.
